Insufficient stats do nerf damage a bit though, so its only useful for trying the weapon out. Once you're used to it/like it invest in the stats needed and use it optimally.
Let's say you have 20 STR, If you 2-hand a weapon with 20 STR you can carry a weapon with a STR requirement of up to 30 (1.5 x your STR) succesfully. Considering you are talking about 6 STR it's likely you can wield it in 2 hands, just don't use it 1-handed or it'll be much weaker. You can also equip it and then 2-hand it, if you still lack the STR the red X won't go away, if you do have enough it'll look like normal.
it only reduces strength requirements not dex , and it doesnt half them its like 1/3rd(might be wrong on this number havent tested it myself just read) or something
@op - never use a weapon if you dont have the stats to wield it properly - the dmg output will be ultra super mega bad
