still getting "Failed to log in to Dark Souls 3 game server" - frustrated, lol not really

Anyway, I'm still loving the game, but would just like to occasionally be invaded to spice things up. I've been off and on trying to connect since Sat morning.

I've made exclusions to the steam folder in my anti-virus, I briefly completely disabled IP4 and IP6 firewalls (not sure of the difference here) in my router settings, even though going by the description "low" settings (which is where I had it) should work just fine.

Please, if there is something that has worked for you, or any tips, please share. Also would like to add, I've not been able to connect even once. I know this problem seems to only be affecting some players, but I've seen it noted in some google searches, and not really finding any answers yet.

Try not using a router if you have one, or open up the ports, my bet is that is the thief in your case.

Ah, sorry. It's not a router. It's the gateway I got from Comcast. I've also got the signal running through a netgear switch, I can plug directly and see if that works...

I have the same problem. I haven't been able to connect since launch. I've made every exclusion I can think of and even completely disabled my firewall with no luck. If you find anything that works, I'd greatly appreciate an update.

Don't worry, I'll be crying from the mountain tops if I can make it work. I wonder why some of us are having these random problems with the server? It really is a mystery to me, not that I'm an expert at this stuff, though.

Taking the switch out of the equation didn't help anything. I suppose I'll wait a while, there is some patch coming tomorrow, right? I'll just enjoy the game for now and look into more solutions if the patch doesn't fix anything.

Well i hope it sorts the problems out for you.
I can't really tell what the problem is, i did have some issues myself at beginning and now it only seems to happen if i want to summon a guy from the us when myself live in the eu from time to time.

Nope. Just tried again this morninjg. It was a no go. It's kind of funny because this is the only game I've bought near launnch in the past 3 years, wanting to be a part of the online community and what not...

lol, maybe i just need a new hobby.

Same thing here. Patch didn't do anything, but I don't think it was designed to. It looked like mostly balancing fixes. But just because it's not a widespread problem, I think it has to be some specific setting on our end that's denying access. If something changes, I'll make sure to update.

Just tried again, just failed again. I will probably be sending an email to their tech-support here soon. Even if it is on our end, maybe seeing that enough folks are having an issue they may work to fix it. Who knows.

Well, I think I've offiically tried everything I can on my end. I reset my router and modem to change the assigned IP address, nothing. I completely disabled all firewall and antivirus settings, nothing. Allowed exceptions for DS3, Steam and anything else I could find related to online gaming, nothing. I figured it would have to affect every online game I play so I hopped onto W40K: Eternal Crusade and played two games fine. I decided to try out Dark Souls (the original) and found an invasion pretty quickly. Same with DS2: SotFS. Whatever it is, it's only DS3, for me at least.

Well, I found a temporary workaround. It isn't a fix by any means, but it got me online. I'm running Windows 10, and all I did was Google and download Betternet for Windows. Restarted my computer and now I can connect to the DS3 servers.

Then it's your internet or some settings that's messed up and not responding and/or connecting to ds3 servers correctly.
Never heard of an issue like that before though, so that's really weird.

i like grandmoffp tried just about anyhting you could think of to fix this with router and pc settings in the end only a vpn fixed this issue

Yeah, tell me about it. That moment of joy when I finally connected was quickly overshadowed by the last few days of frustration. But it works.
