Is Estoc OP? From an Estoc user.
Whenever someone invades me, I, for the most part, cheese them mercilessly with but a few simple light stabs from Estoc. It's absolutely insane how much damage it does, in both PvE and PvP, and I've yet to fight anyone else who uses it. I'm the only person I've run into who seems to use the glory that is Bestoc. So now I wonder, is this because everyone knows and has decided not to use it because it's commonly agreed it's OP, and I've been some sort of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this whole time, assblasting nerds with a Sharp Estoc +9?
Community feedback pls.
It seems thrusting damage in general is absolutely bonkers compared to the other physical damage types.

It's too early to tell if it's OP compared to other weapons. My personal favorites are the Great Scythe and Uchigatana. I think they're OP for their speed and the amount of damage they do compared to their STR counterparts.

ive never heard of estoc being op in any of the games. ive even used it, but rapiers had better damage while estoc obviously has the better moveset and range.

The Uchi is another weapon I am quite fond of. I don't feel it's as powerful as Estoc in raw damage though. I mean, it's AR is higher, but something about thrusting damage on most enemies seems to be absolutely crazy. I do more damage despite the lower AR. It's really baffling. the Wolf Knight Sword is even less powerful in my experience, and it's AR at +4 and +5 is pretty high

Estoc's range and moveset have always been unbalanced in a turtle's hands. Even in 3, where we are now, Havestoc Turtle remains at large.

Thankfully I am not the kind of absolute cancerbaby to turtle with havels on and use Bestoc.
I use the Sith Lord set (fallen knight) and Black Knight shield with Bestoc personally, and I spend most of my time rolling. Absolutely reks everything that moves.

Leave the estoc alone there are other more OP weapons around. There are so few rapier weapons decent for PvP don't ruin this one.

Rapiers are pretty cookie cutter easy to use, seems like all yous have to do is mash onehanded r1 since people ain't got poise and it does ridiculous damage in no time. I've been trying to get the parry down but it's rough.

Giantdad is dat you?

I've been able to fight off estocs with my claymore just fine, I generally win trades against smaller weapons and can zip in and out of range of larger weapons. My composite bow, on the other hand, is ripe ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The roll R1 is an incredibly safe poke, if the other guy throws an attack and I dodge it I just tap R1 and I get guaranteed damage. It's good enough that I imagine that the top levels of PvP could end up just being bows only with no one actually attacking each other for fear of missing and being roll R1'd.

As it is, I can only really bring down people to half health using only a bow since my reaction time and stamina management are imperfect. But if I can get someone down to low HP and then swap to my bow, it's very close to a guaranteed win at that point as I can just weapon art and roll R1 them to death.

What armor you using?
My estock kills most players in less than 8 hits.

I actually haven't seen a lot of claymore, or greatsword use in my time in PvP so far. I'm really interested in seeing how Estoc deals with large weapons. You must have decent poise I'm assuming, because it's pretty easy to get a 4 hit chian on someone with Estoc if I land one hit. What armor you using?

Also, from your description of your bow use, you're.. you're using it in close range? and.. it's viable? Am I understanding right? Because if so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I need to give that a try, that sounds stupid fun, even if it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I myself have a poison arrow fetish, so if it works out, I can easily see that stratagy leading to some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ poison proc fights.

~18-21 poise depending on fashion souls. It's hard to know what exactly poise does, but I've got a fair bit of it. I'll still take the standard 2-hit R1 combo from everyone, but if it turns into a trade I'll generally poise through their attack and land my own.

The bow absolutely shines in point-blank range. Enemy swings, I roll to dodge, I hit R1 while they're still recovering from their attack, they take low but noticable damage. If they aren't attacking, I can use the weapon art to attack, they roll, I attack again since their ability is rapid fire to hit them when they finish the roll (which requires a bit of manual aiming, but it's easy enough when using the gyro on the Steam Controller). With some practice I can probably get to a point where I can just be a melee archer 24/7, the only issue is that my own regular R1's are very easily punished.

Only issue is that you cannot infuse bows. You can upgrade them, but you can't make a refined bow for extra cheese. I've never been able to poison anyone either, even in PvE it takes a ridiculous amount of arrows to get it to proc and even then the damage is such a slow burn that I can't imagine it being useful for anything other than cheesing tough stationary enemies like giants or dragons.

Armor is knightslayer black armor, mirrah mask, legging and glove is something random black thing,

But its not as important as the damage you often deal, what is the number of damage you often deal ? You have buff ?
