What is the difference between Blades of Darkmoon and Blue Sentinels?
I just read on a wiki that the Blue Sentinels shares its rank with the Blades of Darkmoon. Also, in both covenants, you give the same item to level up your rank, to the same NPC. The covenants also have the same function. So what exactly is the difference here?

Yea, I get that. But the Blue Sentinels share this behaviour. So my question is what the difference is between these two covenants.

U're confusing blue sentinels with way of the blue.

The dufference between them are the summon range, the color of the phantom and the covenant item. Covenant rewars are the same

So the difference is nothing special. Strange. I wonder why they made the Blades of Darkmoon and Blue Sentinels two seperate covenants.

Even bigger question is, why do blue and the darkmoon never get summoned, i mean srsly, i've been in the darkmoon for over 10h, not a single summon, why did they have to remove blue orb -.-

Blue Sentinels are guardians while Blades of Darkmoon are hunters. The difference lies therein.

Personally I am going to join Blue Sentinels as I am not interested in hunting down Red Phantoms/Sinners while at the same time I am interested in keeping the self-helping group intact as it'll serve me in return.

You mean by lore? Because by gameplay I can't see that difference.

because people don't generally go with way of the blue on higher levels, for obvious reasons. and they have to get invaded, so the restrictions are pretty high.

probably just to say that the blue sentinels are derivative of the darkmoon, specially with the "proof of a concord kept".

"The covenant is identical in function to the Blue Sentinels, with an additional rivalry with the Aldritch Faithful.
Defeating members of the Aldritch Faithful gives a Proof of a Concord Well Kept as an extra reward.
Dark moon phantom color is dark blue"

So... Color, and extra item from killing an Aldrech Faithful

It used to be like that in ds1, now they are the same, like really no diffrence, same reward, only the color of the phantom is litlle diffrent.

which is also true

It's stupid really, like for 10h not a single summon with darkmoon, before it had a blue orb that u could use to invade the sinners, and get the reward, now u just have to wait to get summoned, everytime they make a covenant that get's summoned automaticly, it's always broken, and it dies immedietly.

Basically it should mean that there will always be the host and you if you join Blue Sentinels, so it's 2 vs 1. I don't exactly know how Blades of Darkmoon operate in practice but I assume they are more likely to engage enemy 1 vs 1.
