Does Dark Souls 3 have anti-cheat?
so my friend just got me dark souls 3 for my birthday and ive played demon souls, dark souls prepare to die and bloodbourne. however i have never played dark souls 2. when i ran through dark souls prepare to die, after the steam server change there were a ton of hacked profiles. people running around invading me with infinite health. (which wasnt exactly hard to do, ive seen it done so i know the temptation is there for some people.) but i have heard that dark souls 2 did have an anti-cheat or at least an attempt at cracking down on hacked saves. does dark souls 3 have a system like this or at least something to keep hackers from invading? (if there are any of course)

I haven't ran into any hackers yet, just a glitch that can incidentally make the person invulnerable. Hopefully it gets patched. Unfortunately it's too early to know the details of DS3's security right now. Judging by how pirates can apparently use their servers to play with each other, their security is pretty lax and we'll probably see a rash of hacks very soon.

figures, i personally dont mind hackers as long as they dont PVP when hacking. thats my main beef. i occasionally like to run around in some games with god mode on, but i refuse to play in a PVP setting with cheats because whats the point then? as for DS3 i am very worried that my friend may have just wasted 60 bucks for my gift if a bunch of hackers make it unplayable xD

Unlike the previous games, the bans on this one I believe have been notched up a level, In DS1+2 I believe you would get a softban that only put you in other hackers worlds in PvP, However I believe Hacking in this one Will "IP Ban" you, Meaning NONE of your characters can play online :D

oh my, that sounds a bit extreme xD but it may be necessary.

Where have you read this? I would need some kind of reliable proof to believe this. I'll have to do some research on this when I wake up...

there was no "softban" in ds1, it was purely peer to peer, you could hack and cheat as you pleased.
not sure about a ds2 softban either, i think it was mostly rumors made from messing with gamefiles and ♥♥♥♥ sometimes mess up your connection to the matchmaking server.
Only seen two cheaters in ds3, and one of them mightve just had the invincibility bug. but the other one was defo cheating, he killed stuff anywhere in his vicinity, and then i dunno if it was his cheats that made his game crash or smth else, but it also made my game crash so hard i had to restart my pc.

just show at my profile, if you in the right oath you get a elite knight blackboard, i have done many screenshots from the top 10 and you can overlook that they all using third party programms to push level stats e.t.c. that some people not get invaded by such sucker is just luck... great luck.. my Experience is 9 of 10 invader for me used hacks/glitches infinity stammina/health and other crap. i play with friends so i cant play offline but when i get invaded i just jump off a cliff or run into enemys cuz i have enough of the ♥♥♥♥! just click my profile you can see my screenshots.. all hackers everywhere!

Not a very good one.

Of course dark souls 3 has anti cheat, if dark souls 2 did. Ive seen a few people get banned already on forums.

If you cheat you risk ruining multiplayer for yourself forever, and wasting the money you spent on the game if you enjoy multiplayer.

Ive done around 50 + PVP matches and I have seen maybe one potential person that couldve possibly been a hacker. Other then that, Ive only ran into some connectivty issues...which is almost as bad as a hacker...almost.

If you use the Roster of Knights, you can already see a list of some blatant hackers.

Sounds like pure bad luck man. I have seen a few people with huge health bars, but mainly people have good builds. Best of luck to you in the future though

I've seen one legitimate hacker. He was using God Mode. I got 4 parries and 6 backstabs and he lost no health. Other than that havent seen a lot.

there is no anti-cheat system in dark souls 3... it's pretty obvious.

Except that there is? DS3's anti-cheat is the same as DS2's - it catches things like stats not matching SL, triggering certain game flags out of order, impossibly high stacks of certain items, etc. Memory editing (CE) for things like HP/stamina freezes can't be detected unless they scan your computer for running programs, which they don't.

Another difference is that getting banned in DS2 was permanent; DS3 servers periodically check accounts for invalid data, and if none is found after you've been banned you can be unbanned.

And there was never any "softban server". Softbanning means being completely blocked from multiplayer, but still being able to play rest the game.

There is effectively no anti cheat in DS3 thanks to family share. The systems you're describing are worthless and might as well not even be mentioned.

It's like saying you have pockets when there is a giant hole at the bottom.
