PS4 Controller not working, DS4 Windows not helping

Hi, I'm trying to get my Dualshock 4 to work with DS3, and infuriatingly all that happens is the PS4 touchpad is recognized as a mouse. I've been using DS4Windows, all drivers are up to date. I'm using a 64-bit machine and have tested this in multiple usb ports.

Anyone have any ideas? I'd like to avoid returning the game and buying the PS4 version, but this is getting exhausting.

You can try bluetooth on DS4 it works perfectly for me! This tutorial explains how do it, don't worry, it is very simple https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dncJS-oCgdk. If it already works for you but the controller constantly disconnects, you should try to delete it from bluetooth and reinstall it

Hi All, hopefully anyone can help me out, for almost a year now i was using DS4 windows by jays2king to run my ds4 controller on pc via bluetooth up until last friday, when i came home booted up like normal went to strt my game and as per usual u strt ds4 first connect the control and its telling me exclusive mode can not be ran etc quits apps like steam and uplay etc first.

The thing is none of those apps are running at all i even checked via task manager and nothing no steam origin or uplay is running but yet exlusve mode wont work at all. Found input mapper and tried it out and again the same exclusive mode error message appears not now none of my games are working cuz im getting dbl inputs in everything. the only cahnegs to my cpu were two recent windows updates like in the space of two or three days apart.

If anyone can help it would be appreaciated tremendously

Ok so I have been using DS4 windows for years now and never had this problem untill recently. And I found a fix to this problem and am sharing it here so that others can fix this problem as it annoyed the f**k out of me.

So Hide DS4 was not working for me and I tried other program like InputMapper, x360ce, SCPToolkit etc and nothing worked for me and every time I was told that a program was using the DS4 exclusive mode.

Source Of The Problem For Me:
I downloaded the latest Nvidia Drivers after that I started having this problem (that sneaky little bastard !!!)

Fix:
Goto Nvidia Gefore Experience, Settings and remove the In-Game Overlay option. Took me 2 days of searching the source of problem and finally found the solution.

Other Fixes that also works are:
1. Close any programs that uses the DS4 exclusive mode like steam, Uplay etc
2. Go to device manager (search "device" in taskbar and hit enter) expand "Human Interface Devices", right-click on "HID-compliant game controller" click "Disable" then right-click it again and click "Enable". Also do the same for Bluetooth HID if there is any.

Hope this helps as I didnt find any solution on the internet related to the Nvidia Overlay causing the problem. Let me know if this helps as it really F**Ked me up as I was constantly looking for a solution for 2 straight days.

Thank you , I killed Geforce Experience and it fixed it. Gj Nvidia you suck. They should remove this from their installations, the need to use a PS4 controller > GeForce Experience.

Get Xbox controller. PS controllers are ♥♥♥♥ if you try to use them on PC. Xbox controller is plug and play.

in my case it was nvidia overlay that was wrecking ds4windows for me. exclusive mode stops working if i enable nvidia overlay, and without exclusive mode, half the games are bonkers.
does anyone has a fix for this?

i completely agree and thats what im doing 99% (using steam's emulation). its just with fallout 4 i have to use ds4windows to emulate my dualshock as xbox360. my fallout 4 simply refuses to work with any kind of setting when using dualshock4.
