Great Machete vs Butcher Knife vs Claymore vs Uchi, what to upgrade first?

Hi there! I am at a point in the game where titanites are kinda scarce, got the 4 mentioned weapons to +3 and now I'm wondering which one I should upgrade using my few large titanite shards. I'm favoring the Butcher Knife for now, it seems pretty fast but Great Machete seems good too. Just not sure which one would be better, anyone can tell me how's the upgraded scaling on those weapons? I'm going for a semi quality melee build with a little more str than dex.

I didn't like the great machete move set. The butcher knife can't be infused or buffed but has good scaling. Claymore is god tier always but slow compared to the enemy attack speed.

I guess go with Uchi.

Just finished Deep Deacon boss and am at Farron's keep at the moment, rolling a +3 Irithyl straight sword, but wanted to start upgrading a regular path weapon.

yeah, Uchi and Claymore seem good choices, it's just I got a little burnt out with those in previous games, specially the Claymore, which I used a lot in 1. For now I'm diggin the Butcher Knife, although it's AR seems kinda low, but guess speed makes up for it. Btw how about the exiled curved sword?

I would say butcher knife becouse if you go more str than dex the butcher would be better than the uchi. Later in the game you become much titanites.

thanks for the tip! Guess like other Souls games getting Titanites later isn't all that hard, just don't wanted to botch my first weapon choice :p

Claymore 4 lyf. was my go-to weapon in DS1 and DS2, and now DS3. I used the claymore all the way through ng+7 in DS1.

BTW, do the slugs in Farron swamp drop large titanite shards like in DkS 1? haven't seen them drpo a single item yet.
