Killed crystal sage at lvl26 rushing?
Am I progressing too fast? Should I get my soul level up?

That seems like a normal level for that fight. Hard to tell you if you're rushing, only you would know that. If you are not exploring everything then you are rushing

I was at a similar level so you are fine imo. In fact I've already reached places much further when I was around that level. If you ever feel like you are struggling try to level, so long as you don't then you are probably doing just fine. Levels have never been super important for the difficulty, it does make it less likely for you to make a mistake since enemies die faster and the fight ends more quickly.

I'm about that level and he smacked me down quick. I was going to grind more but I guess I should just summon help or something

If you use a fairly strong weapon then you can take off 200-500 dmg per phase and breaking the crystals reduces the amount of spawns.

Ohh, I didn't realize the crystal thing. That's what always gets me, the fifty soul spears shooting me at once. Thanks!

Neither did I, yet I proceeded to solo him while dodging all the soul spears in the world, lol

I found out when I broke a crystal just as one was supposed to spawn under me (and he disappeared right when it broke). You only have to walk over them to break them so that makes it fairly easy to remove untill he starts putting them everywhere :P
