Equipment Load issue?

so i was running around in Undead Settlement and found the Fire Clutch Ring so i equipped it (because i had no 4th ring yet) read it and saw it reduces dmg absoption so i unequipped it. I went to roll after it and noticed i was now slow rolling eventhough my equipment was all the same. I looked at my % load and noticed at 74.8% now. I have no idea what happened.

I'll note that i did talk to Yoel at Firelink shrine and gained a free lvl and was hollow lvl 5 at the time and am now lvl 8. Have I encountered a bug or is there something I'm missing?? any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

What is your equip load if you go completely naked? You can also manually calculate your equipment load to check if it matches and see if it's an actual bug.

fully naked= 0
all previous equip= 37.4 / 50 which checks out to 74.8%

So is it possible to lose equip load? I never really looked at my max load, just the percent :/

U're probably wearing something else, or have another weapon in the slot.

Perhaps you had an item before that increases your max equip load? Havel ring does it, but I know in DS2 there were also armors with such bonuses. What is your vitality? It must be fairly low because I have about 49 max equip load myself and mine is like 7 or something (don't recall exactly as I'm not ingame right now).

Maybe your equip load was bugged before you put on the ring but it sounds to me that you probably hadn't noticed till you used the ring.

Cant be because all of my items are the same thing I've been using for the past 2-3 hours ingame. Only thing thats changed since then is talking to yoel and getting the dark sigil and equipping Fire Clench Ring and unequipping it like 5 seconds later.

my vitality is 10 btw with 50 max load
