not even google god has the precious info...
I'm a bit pissed off myself honestly, from what I can tell, you can summon actual players with NO ISSUE, up to 3 with Dried Fingers. But for some reason NPCs require Dried Fingers just to get TWO?!
I sincerely hope this is a bug, otherwise chalk another screw-up by FROM soft here, which hurts my soul to say...
i had that dried finger thing but could only summon 1 NPC in that fight with both of my characters
In Pontiaff i could summon 2 NPCs
You can summon multiple NPCs for most fights (e.g., Albert and Sword Master for Vordt, or Anri and Horace for the Deacons).
And if that's the case in Farron, it friggin SUCKS. Why would they do that? But I used them during the Crystal Sage fight, to get the NPC and a second summon. So I know they work...
Yes, you can summon more than 1 NPC Phantoms, and there are no limits on how many NPCs you can get, save from the normal Max.2 Phantoms rule (Or 3 with Dried Fingers)
The summon sign in DS III can be a tad broken, with all summon signs disappear after you have summoned one, but you can wait for the next wave of summon signs to appear, and then summon the next NPC.
After all that, if you want to summon one more NPC, use a dried finger and the summon signs should appear once more. if it doesn't appear, just wait for all summon signs to spawn back.
