If you accidentally attack a friendly NPC and turn them hostile, you can undo that and make them forget it ever happen. (is one of them, forgotten the other one)

As her name implies, and as the key to her cellar said (read the description of items, seriously) Velka was the goddes of sin, people always went to her to pray to be forgiven for their sins.

So let's say you killed an npc, you have sinned, you have to go Velkta and pray to be forgiven, however Velka is like "Praying is just a formality, where's the "tip"? "

Dissolution reverses a story decision, I think. Too spoilery to explain.

Velka is the Goddess of Sin. Sin is her domain.
If you have sinned, be it by murdering a fellow undead, or simply aggravating them (don't do weapon practice in the shrine. you'll poke someone's eye out), you can seek absolution, which cleanses your tarnished soul and grants forgiveness from those you have agressed.
(some administration fees may apply)

The second option is new, so you'll need to figure that out on your own.

"Provides Absolution services to remove accumulated sin from players" is pretty clear to me. And the concept of sin isn't new to the series...

Not everything needs 100 words and more to explain them. Selecting the option alone tells you pretty clearly what the statue does. "YOU HAVE NOT SINNED" and "YOU ARE NOT CURSED" aren't exactly complex statements, are they?

The series has never held your hand. Live a little and poke the thing. You can always recover the souls if you get horribly mauled to death by sparrow headed women, right?

Everyone has different play styles. I wanted to know what she did and searched for it, thus ending up at this forum. If anything, I've learned throughout playing this series that sometimes little decisions can lead to major setbacks and I seriously don't have time for that crap. TLDR: chill out, douche nozzle.
