infuse or reinforce
which is the best. Seems infuse would give me a whole lot more attack power than the reinforce on my Broadsword. But then it turns it into a raw weapon. Which I don't quite understand . Does that make it so I cannot reinforce it anymore.

Raw weapons don't scale but do more base damage, so it's good for the early game. You can reinforce raw weapons as usual and reinfuse them or convert them back into normal weapons later on.
Raw is jsut a FORM of infusion along with others like "blessed, lightning, fire, poisoned, sharp, heavy, lacerating(bleed), etc." and no you can still reinforce and infuse..just MOST infusions REMOVE scaling...namely raw and elemental...though infusions like sharp/heavy INCREASE their respective scaling i.e sharp gets more d ex sclaing, but less str scaling, and heavy is the opposite...Hope this helps!

Raw weapons have more damage but won't scale with your stats. So they're good for early in the game when your stats are low but later on when you have higher stats you're better off with just a standard weapon. Here's a link to the wiki so you can look over which infusion paths you would prefer.

So infusing a weapon adds an elemental damage to it, but most of the time removes the scaling with your stats. So if you were using a weapon with poor scaling anyway, then infusion might be the way to go. Same goes for if your stats are low, then you can infuse and it won't matter much.

The problem with infusing however, is that it also removes some of the base damage most of the time, though I think Raw actually adds to base damage. They are all different how they work so you kind of just have to look through the different infusions and see what the numbers do.

Also, reinforce the weapon either way. Even if you infuse it you can still reinforce it, reinforcing the weapon adds damage and in some cases increases scaling.

ok thank you.. what do you mean it does not scale. Does that mean as I increase in strength the weapon does not increase in attack power. That seems to be a bad thing then.

Pretty much this...if something has D/D in scaling that means it scales with BOTH your dex AND str...but it it's -/- scaling that means it does NOT scale with your stats EVER
