Sages Ring worth it?

I have only ever played melee in this game, but want to give playing a caster a go, is the Sage Ring worth using?

Depends on your dexterity.

The closer to 50 it gets, the less useful the ring becomes, (it gives an increase in virtual dexterity only when casting spells) but it's nice to have on lower dexterity sorcerers

Ah, well my dex is only at 12, just started the caster, lvl like 20 now, so I'll make sure to pick it up when I get to the swamp area.
