Didn't count, but many times, Iudex is very intimidating, 2nd phase totally freaked me out, I would kill my way to Iudex, it was a struggle, didn't know how to handle enemies with shields then. Knight class. And i remember I would press and press, but my character would do nothing (because I exhausted my stamina blocking him).

many times, until I realized I was using the heavy attack, so i using light attack and it works
2-3 times with warrior, 15-20 times with hobo.

I wasn’t counting, but it was alot. I just couldn’t figure out the roll, I was always too early and he would catch me after my frames ran out

1, patience and knowing when you can hit him is all you need.

It was my first souls game, so I suffered a lot. I couldn't even get past the bridge in Irithyll with my first character :(

Two times. First time I just checked his movements and attacks and then I re-fought and killed him.

Not to flex but it was my first souls game also, I found the game so easy.

I'm a retired applications programmer and I didn't play PC games until I stopped working and finally had some time to do things I liked. I first played through The Witcher series, and had considerable difficulty with the combat because I had never played games like these and when your brain is old and slow, it takes a while to learn new things. Eventually, though, I managed to "git gud" enough to enjoy the game and play all the way through. Then, disaster struck - Dark Souls 3 was recommended to me by a friend who loved the Souls series and had no idea who he was talking to. I had loads of trouble just getting my avatar to move smoothly and put up a fight without looking like he'd spent all that time in his coffin chugging moonshine. I gave up almost at once, and began plotting my revenge against my (former) friend. Of course, I went back again - and again, and again - until I managed to survive the tutorial area and take on Iudex.

I lost count of how many times I went through that f***ing fog wall and died. The first time I managed to get to the second phase I whooped as if I'd won the lottery - and then died immediately. Everything seemed to happen so fast! I read all kinds of online material about how to beat him, and, after many, many assaults I finally won. I felt as if I had won the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Around 20 times, not gonna lie.
DS3 taught me not to compare with others. Comparing with others is vexing yourself.
