I have seen another rule for twinkling/scale weapons matchmaking, what's true?
See this screenshot:

That's what I have found and I am wondering if that is correct.

I have a +3 titanite scale weapon, does this mean I am treated like having a +7 normal titanite weapon for matchmaking which would mean I get matched with +10 people? :(

I didn't want to upgrade my weapons above +6 to stay in the mid level pvp range (4-9).

the wiki says this:

weapons that only go to +5 operate as double their numbers. So +1 is +2, +2 is +4, etc.

So I would assume that a +3 twinkling/scale weapon is treated like a +6 normal weapon, right? But that picture shows different.

What's true?

as a reminder this is how it matches you for normal titanite weapons:

Huh. I've not seen this table before and I don't know where it is pulled from but IF that is true it really changes the dynamic of upgrading weapons for low level setups: if a +2 is not equivalent to a +1 for a Twinkling/Scale weapon.

Grabbed a friend, we made some characters and did some testing: that table is off. Twinkling/Scale upgrading weapons at +1 do NOT scale you down when playing with a character that has 0 upgrades whatsoever. A +3 regular weapon WILL. Also: once you get to +3 on a normal weapon the game will remember that forever. If you put the weapon in your bottomless box or even discard it, you will be scaled down when playing with someone at +0.

wait you say that: "Twinkling/Scale upgrading weapons at +1 do NOT scale you down when playing with a character that has 0 upgrades whatsoever."

That means the table is right because you'd count then as +3 and can't play with someone +0.

This are the matchmaking rules from the wiki:
lower | higher
+ 0 | + 2
+ 1 | + 3
+ 2 | + 4
+ 3 | + 5
+ 4 | + 6
+ 5 | + 8
+ 6 | + 9
+ 7 | + 10

The thing is that +1 Twinkling/Scale weapons CAN play with someone at +0. They do NOT count as +3 normal.

ah ok, I misunderstood you! thanks for testing mate!

Twinkling weapons are basically 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 when compared to standard there is no rounding down.
