it's not even 10%, percentages are so messed up I don't know how anybody that made this game does basic manths.
but anyway, an attack that dies 450ish to you now will do like 480ish, maybe 470, where as you'll have a lot more hp, and more stamina, and you get some damage reduction back via the vit bonus
Ring of Steel protection is garbage in PvP. I don't have the source right now, but testing was done and the conclusion is that +0/+1/+2 versions give 0%/2%/4% damage reduction respectively instead of what they would give in PvE.
Not sure about Prisoners Chain though, many effects that are good in PvE like Oath of Sunlight or Deep Protection do almost nothing in PvP, maybe that is true for 10% extra damage received aswell. But I wouldn't count on it.
If you tested it and the damage received went up from 450 to 480, then there is your answer. If you raise your Vigor from 35 to 40 that is a 98 Hp increase. (Using Ring of Favor +1) In this case you would die from 4 hits either way, but gotta keep in mind that 10% increase is also for critical attacks which is very severe damage increase.
