2) The Spell buff increases with your INT. Some Staves that start out at Very low say 60 spell buff will become good later at Higher Int as you can not or can barely use them to begin with.
eg. Heretics Staff is better than the starting staff up to 29 Int or so, above 29 Int the starting staff takes over and increases better than the Heretics. The Court sorcerers staff comes good at High Int way, way above 30.
3) Just keep checking all your staves as you level your Int and you will eventually see the higher end Staves come good but remember to account for upgrade levels aswell.
Generally the Heretics Staff is best up to 28 Int then the starting Catalyst (one a sorcerer starts with) is the best until 40/50 Int then the Court Sorcerers takes over.
(Edited for mistakes)
just a note, i have the starting staff and heretics staff both +5 with 40 int and the heretics staff is slightly more powerful
Not sure on that. Interesting though.
When i was at 22 Int and the two staves were at +3 the Heretics staff was better but when i got to 30 Int and both Staves at +4 the Starting staff overtook the Heretics.
Perhaps they keep leap froging each other at different scalings and Int score so its just a case of keep comparing them in the inventory screen as your Int changes.
perhaps. tbh the difference is neglegable. about 4 points difference with great heavy soul arrow. ill probably just stick to upgrading the starting staff to save titinite, especially given the info provided by D4C. thanks for that
