Sorcery is the most powerful in terms of damage if you can take someone by surprise. I uploaded a video to my channel that shows me 1 shotting players waiting for me in a 3 man gank with soul stream while I stood atop their bodies waiting for the 3rd to notice lol.
It's tricky to kill players when they notice you but can be done with greatsword/flashsword.
I've uploaded a few and got tons not sorted through yet of me destroying hosts and summons with sorcery 1 shotting like 90% of them lol
Ironically it is because everyone thinks 'sorcery sucks' so very few people play sorcerers...and thus nobody knows how to play against them. Once my friends fought me enough they started to learn how to counter me. But I still could kick ther butts. :)
Maybe we shouldn't be telling people how strong they are....so never mind folks. Sorcery sucks, but let me activate my fingers in case anyone needs some covenent items. >:)
Lol it still needs a rework imo, but can be deadly used right, melee i find is STILL more versitile I find mainly because of its no fp cost outside of weapon arts. but sheer damage sorcery wins.

can be handy but shame they can still see your magic effects with it if they look at you.
I just wanted input on how he was able to dish out that much damage while still having a fair amount of health and defense and stamina is all.
This is the easiest thing to sidestep ever.
You're the 1 guy in a 100 that doesn't know how to "counter" magic and actually managed to walk into a soul spear. Congrats.

Is it as powerful as it is in the previous games? I don't hink so, but I actually like that magic requires more thought, and that I can play a 'pure' mage while not sacrificing range or melee. I do wish the bag of tricks was a little larger, but as it is I've had little trouble with mages once someone told me that 60 not 40 was the stat to aim for as a mage.
Plus I have been able to easily get both swamp scrolls, beat the Road of Sacrifices guard dog knight, kill the the swamp guard NPCs, and just basically clear out both undead settlment and the RoS all while 23. I plan to make a family share account as I don't see much auto summons so I think I got that bug, but I'm pretty sure once I hit 23 and got the flash sword spell the pvp doors open.
I get a week off in two days, and I plan to play the sorcerer to the point I can write my guide. Debating if I should do a video or just write it up. But we will see. But as it stands, I'm convinced that most of people's problems with sorcery is just not leveling it right or just not playing to it's strengths.
invasions don't really count to me, because I troll with the dragon bow, there's so many ways to troll with anything to insta kill 3 players with obscuring ring it doesn't really count to me. I could sit there all day at wolnir knocking people off bridges. takes no skill.
in a duel, you would have to be stupid to chase a person that's obviously buffing round a blind corner, not to mention I just keep the pressure up so you wouldn't get a chance to cast anything.
Yea, other games had it good, little too good before nerfing.
I play pure 10 stats in everything but int/attune/vig pretty much.
Hopefully dlc will add more versitility in spell types, I loved souls vortex in 2, it did very well in making people go where I wanted.
Flashsword is a wonder for sorcery, more damage I find than dark sword can dish out.

It replaced soul arrow that used to be the generic "deal with mobs" attack in ds1 and 2. and made it better but at the cost of requiring melee range.
Well I can offer my own input if u need, I've done well over 700 invasions now as pure sorcery alone, and a further like 600 or so as melee XD
Would be interesting in video or writing, I think I've gotten a good balance of personal health and defence and damage potential with 1 shotting most people now, so I'm happy with mine, even have room for a gimmicky spell like wall of light lol
It's not always misrolling either. I have gotten a few people who have rolled my spear by simply comboing spells, forcing them to roll to dodge my soulmass and then proceeding to get rekt by my spear on the roll out.
