Is Drakeblood Greatsword any good?

Yea if you use the magic clutch rings (magic and lightning) and buff it with either magic or lightning it's good but without them it's kinda weak.

Just use a straight sword an do the same amount of damage for faster attacks and way less stamina consumption

haha,idk if the AR calculator i used is wrong.But with 66 str/40 dex it says a refined dark sword has 515 AR

Nope, trash, has its damage based on physical, lightning, and magic, so it is absorbed 3x times, making way less dmg, it will only work against pve mobs with weakness to lightning or magic.

It works great, I cosplay drakeblood Knight with it at SL 36 and kill people with it, and I'm not even quality build but dex build, having to 2h it.

Dark sword is for no skill scrubs with its phantom range outranging some of the UGS and the extremly fast attacks. People using them for PVP dueling are truly no skills who are easy enough to kill with parries or throwing stuff sicne they only know how to use shadow range and spam r1 and get gallons of kills.

If you compare swords to other weapon types you will see a clear scaling bias for swords. Almost all of the "S" INT/FAITH scaling weapons that can be infused are swords for example. Topping off straightswords with phantom range to make it more accessible is just icing. The APR for stamina ratio of straight swords is pretty dumb.

I know, that's why it's ridiculous how effective straight swords are in this game, both in PvP and PvE compared to the other weapon classes

You can kill people with any weapon. If you're looking for the best, drakeblood isn't it. If you're looking for a melee weapon that will kill people, close your eyes and randomly pick one out of your inventory.

If you like the Drakeblood, use it. It's a really short greatsword with lots of damage types. If you swing it at people and connect enough times it will kill them.

It is an exceptional sword when fighting dragons although there aren't so many of them in this game though.

PvP or PvE?
PvP it sucks, it got less reach than a straight sword and it has split damage
PvE it's great, you can buff it, you can infuse it, you can make it work with any build

Greatswords are amazing and require good timing. I would say they are a more advanced weapon than a straight sword.
