Best Critical Damage Weapon?

Hey so, i saw some vid where a guy was using a Dagger (I dont remember what it was infused with) and he was doing a ♥♥♥♥ ton of dmg with riposte/guard break.. Id like to know wich weapon has the highest critical attack

critical modifier would be a dagger
lothric sword is pretty good too
for max dmg use a heavy hitting weapon

Does the dagger reach heavy weapons damage?

The Dagger has the highest multiplier on it's damage for criticals, although a powerful enough weapon would surpass it through sheer AR, such as the Black Knight Greataxe.

So if i dont want to use heavy ass weapons am i ok with the dagger damage? i havent tried it and i saw in the vid that the guy had like 1k dmg per riposte

Yeah, it'll still hurt a ton.

Worth noting that the Mail Breaker is an option too, if you aren't investing heavily into Dex. It has the same 130 crit modifier and higher base damage, but worse Dex scaling and a (probably) worse Weapon Art.

I get 500-600 on my +6 raw mail breaker. Good for mages/hybrids.

weapon critical modifiers in this game dont matter; almost no weapons have them. basically its hornet ring+ high ar weapons. black knight ultra great axe was probably highest before nerf. now its likely other great axes.

Yep, best bet is ultra weapons.

Kinda a shame, wish they gave the best backstab or riposte damage to daggers, or mainly claws... Would really help give them some area to excel in, and mix up the gameplay a bit...

Daggers had a shorter animation for a backstab attempt making them more effective in DS2, too bad DS2 is mediocre.
