I can't forgive Patches, ever

Since Demons Souls I've never let Patches live. I know he's a pretty damn good merchant but he fuq'd me once and never again. I do like to do his gesture after owning an invader, teabag style.

Yeah I did that since the day I got that emote. When someone watched me teabag an enemy he just stood there.. His childhood got ruined.

Well if you kill him too early you wont get the gesture, but you do get an easy path to rosaria, free catarina, his ashes, and a free horse hoof ring. Its pretty worth it if you don't want the gesture and hate climbing up the roof to get to rosaria.

I never even got him to appear in my 5 playtroughts... He never appeared in Cathedral of the deep. I always had to climb the firekeeper tower to get the catarina armor.

I never even got him to appear in my 5 playtroughts... He never appeared in Cathedral of the deep. I always had to climb the firekeeper tower to get the catarina armor.

you have to open the frount door, and the other door by the giant, wiel not having bought the tower key in order for him to spawn in the church

If the giants are dead does he still appear? It's weird how he never spawned then. I believe I've met these criteria at least once.

even if the gaints are killed he will still try, and the cutscene is diffrent, and funny. they changed it because before you had to open the doors, then reload for him to appear, and noone would do that normally unless they were killed before reaching the elevator...
now when you ride the elevator, he snaps into place.

I think patches is cool. i mean how many times have you killed an NPC to get his goods! you are no better then patches! Why you'r both just jolly undead outcasts, you are!

Killing Patches has no repercussion on the game now because when he dies, he drops his ashes, allowing the Shrine Handmaid to sell the stuff he was selling.

killing him and giving his ashes to the shrine maiden was pretty satisfying.

I used to hate patches, then I realized he's the only NPC in these games who gives you a sporting chance when trying to kill you, even if you don't just homeward bone out.

Even if he didn't have a habit of opening up an item shop later, that's still quite notable.
