So you do what you want. But even if you have these sigils you can have the basic ending. You can chose at the end between the endings, but you can only choose those that you unlocked. And you didn't unlock that ending yet.
If you don't care, and just want to heal your beef jerky skin, go ahead and heal the dark sigil - be warned though, Yuria wont talk to you anymore or sell you items.
But like others said , if you die , you go back to looking like a feet.
No, people tend to find meaning in things, which don't have any at all. Telling there is any plot in Dark Souls is a lie. Things happening in this game is random Japanese sick fantasy.
