It's cool, but like most things, it's situational.
As english is not my native language, I'll let the original thread do the talking instead :)
The damage of the move is retardedly insignificant, the animation takes longer than 3 r1's of a straight sword (don't even bring up estoc), and worst of all it costs A TON of stamina to use instead of straight FP. I can use half my FP to enhance a sword and get more damage from 1 swing than using all my FP to stomp R2s all day. So what's the point other than ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with me? I don't mean to sound whiney or a "git gudder" kind of player, I just want to understand why it exists and when it's appropriate to use it. More importantly why it exists since straight swords and spears are fast, efficient, deadly, and somewhat magically longer than they appear.
Would also like to ask why some charge R2's do the same damage as a regular R1, was the coding department drunk some days when calculating? I have used almost every weapon I could get my hands on up to the boreal valley so my experience isn't extensible but I figured by 5-7 bosses I would have come across something useful in this regard.
