I love difficult games and learning patterns of bosses / enemies. But there is a difference between difficult and tedious. Having to run for 2 minutes before the boss fight does not add anything to the challenge, if I have to repeat this boss 20 times this has wasted 40 minutes of my life.
Saying "you should stick to witcher or skyrim" does not make sense, I dont like games that are easy. Making a game more tedious does not make it harder. I remember playing ultrakill and there were bosses that I was retrying 80 times, but the game had a checkpoint system that would restart the boss immediately. It took me about 40 minutes to complete that boss with 80 retries.
If the game would have forced me to repeat the whole level each time, it would take at least 2 hours and frustrate me for no reason.
I understand for some people who are basement dwellers, have no life, no goals, this is not a problem. For those of us who value our time, we would more appreciate if the game had more bonefires or the ability to quick save.
Doom eternal also did it well, there is nightmare difficulty that is hard and fun to play, you have to learn the game in order to progress.
And there is also ultra nightmare exactly the same in gameplay but when you die you have to restart the whole campaign.
It should be the same in dark souls, there should be an option for players who want to save time, but still enjoy difficulty and learning bosses.
There should be a mode with more bonefires / checkpoints.
Playing the the level again is part of the challenge. You died and you deserve to be punished until you master the level. If you think that is tedious, then yes, you should stick to the Witcher and Skyrim.
I tried both skyrim and witcher and deleted both games within less than an hour since they are too easy for me. I only play hard games
I deleted Skyrim because it's basically a "walk around the woods and talk to NPCs" simulator
Have you tried Skyrim on Legendary? It's not souls-like difficulty but surely not a walk in the park. Also a great game overall, you missed out.
I like ds3 more because bosses are more relentless in attacking and also have more patterns / attacks that you have to learn to dodge. DS3 seems to be more difficult overall as well.
I used the quick save mod, to be able to replay dancer of the Boreal Valley without having to run before each fight to replay it. This saved a lot of time, and I probably would have probably stopped playing ds3 if it wasnt for this mod. (I only used the mod to save before the door of the boss, I didnt use it to cheese the level)
As I progressed more throughout the game, I noticed that bonfires are more frequent, and I didnt have a need to use the mod anymore. So far Im enjoying ds3 a lot and its becoming one of my favorite games.
First, Souls is always relevant... second.... why are you posting then? Lol people complain about Necros.... with a comment is hilarious... it's not our fault, that you are too dumb to unsubscribe posts.... or for some reason open any post you find?
For me, the Info with QuickSave Mod helped! Thanks Smurf
What Challange is it, to run from Dragon Armour Bonfire, back in the castle... in a Elevator, and then to Prince Lothric? Its just tedious, because the enemys up there on the stairs already walked down.
