Not that I know of. But you can use red bug pellets or anything the reduce fire damage. You can also use anything that helps regenerate stamina to get across the lava faster.

Nope. Ember up, bring your best fire-resistant gear, flame stoneplate ring, red bug pellets, flash sweat, whatever health generation spells / abilities you have, and just chug estus through the way.

You have to increase your fire resistance to be able to survive the lava. Use the fire stoneplatering from the undead settlement with the speckled stone ring for extra fire resistance. Wear armour that gives you high fire res and use the flesh sweat pyromancy to get the most fire res.

Also whatever you do, DON'T try to use a quickstep weapon to move through lava faster.

You really only have 2 lava pits with each having 2 items to loot. You should prepare yourself, dumb all ashtus and only have normal once to maximize quanitiy, wear highes fire res armor you have without getting past 69% load, use the pyromancy flame sweat, eat a red pellet, eat a green blossom for faster stamina regen, equip all rings that give you higher health and fire res and also the ring that increases estus healing and then run, don't roll, jsut run and drink an esus every time your health reaches half point. With that you have an easy time grabbing the items. (don't forget the ember)

unless they patched it you can also use shields to block the damage while you run into the lava but if you stop blocking you will not be able to start again until you get out of it, or at least I was not able to

No, they went the retarded dark souls 2 way of stacking resistances and tanking through it rather than just letting you do it with a ring like in dark souls 1.

Yes, if you are using or plan on using pyromancy.
