Any weakness to Havel???

You can backstab fish him multiple times, or parry him to kingdom come if you're confident. Easiest is to have somebody with you, so you can take turns backstabbing the bastard like 6-8 times.

equip the hornet ring or whatever ring boosts critical attacks. Then just circle and back stab like you would for a black knight. Also using a raw with a strenght build is a bad idea. Raw removes all scaling effects. While the damage looks better at first, a +9 sword with scaling will outdamage +9 raw sword. The only reason you want to use raw, is if you're a magic build and aren't putting levels into strength or dex.

Try thrusting attacks, and bring a parrying dagger or target shield or buckler.
You can definitely parry his 1 handed attacks but I haven't been able to parry his 2 handed attacks... am I just messing up the timing or are ultra 2handed weapons unparriable like in DS2?

You could bait his running attack, he has a long recovery time from that.

the NPC havel has no poise unless he rocks up. just dodge tword and around him as he swings, and back stab him, or hit him in the back and make him stagger to death.

I beat him thanks guys i rolled to his back then used my yhorm great machette to back stab him 7 backstabs and he was done bummer i really wanted his armor all i got was his shield

I recommend paying the bridge a visit where you fought the stone demon above farron keep. There might be a present there for you.

now that you killed him, get back to the broken bridge on the swamp where you fighted the demon , above the old wolf bonfire , his set will be there near the gate =) , best armour I think , but a little heavy.

its a way too heavy i fat roll with all the armor on even without a weapon or shield
