best way to farm the carthus curved greatsword?

hey there,

I farmed the grave warden skeletons with the shield and the carthus curved sword, not the great one holding about 1 hour with 450+ item discovery and got about 10 carthus curved swords but not a single greatsword, what shows me that this rumor isn't true and only the greatsword one drops the greatsword what should be more than obvious when you're not that dump like me.

so whats the best location with the greatsword dudes? I know only the single one looking on the bridge near the wolnir bonfire, is there a better spot?

To the left of the 2 curved sword dudes is another one, coming from the bonfire there.

I still recommend the dude near the bridge. He's the closest one, I think.

(btw, does the guy at the very beginning has a curced sword or greatsword?)

I got my Carthus CGS from the pair of skeletons on top of the first skeleball ramp-bridge. Start from Abyss Watchers bonfire, descend shortcut on the right, run up the ramp and then just use the skeleball to kill the swordsmen if you don't want to fight them the usual way.

the first one should have a normal curved sword, all dudes with shields have the lighter version of the curved sword and the won't drop the greatsword unfortunately I'll look over the tip from iris later, can't remember on the first ballway was a greatsword one :/

I spent probably 5 hours over 2 days farming for the CCGS using coins from patches, the crystal rapier and no luck. I got 6 shackles, 42 embers, over 200 titanites and 10 large titanites. It was not unil I got the gold serpent ring and tried again did I manage to get the sword and I got it TWICE! One from each of the red eyed skeletons after the skele-ball!. Save yourself the pain of massive farming and just go get the gold serpent ring first!

ive spent 30minutes doing this with Symbol of Averice and rusted coins. No success from those 3 skeletons.

in the future use the symbol of avarice too and gold serpent ring+3
