If you have a seed of giants that'll help you root them out maybe... If not then yeah, it's most likely chameleon, obscuring ring, etc... Either keep looking or wait them out (or alt f4 I guess but you don't really want to abuse that too much)

nothing you can do, the most frustrating is that you can not even light a bonfire. Either die intentionally or just progress, if he shows up then fight him, if he doesn't - fog wall/altf4

You could quit out/Alt+F4. DS saves constantly so, you'll probably reload right where you currently are.

You can't black crystal invaders - or it'd defeat the whole point of them.
Though it'd be nice to get the black crystal and jam it into certain players hands so they can't play anymore
