Stop Using Fextralife
It's full of false information, like wrong upgrade paths and infusions. Wikidot is a much better resource and I have never seen any false info on it, yet it's so underused it never even comes up on Google when I search for something. Fextra is always a top search result, simply because everyone uses it. Stop.

More people contribute to fextralife from what I found. Personally I like Wikidot better. It has a nice clean interface.

What exactlly do you mean by "false info?" I mean the game is somewhat new and there's still a lot of stuff to be tested.

It does, but that's not the reason I suggest to use it. It doesn't have any misinformation. Fextra might have more "notes" on particular items, but most of it is made up without any proper testing. I suppose it's a result of, as you said, more contributions. Maybe it's good that wikidot is less popular...

Read my post more carefully. Wrong infusions and upgrade paths. A boss weapon that is only upgradable to +5 is sometimes +10 on fextralife. A buff that cannot be stacked with other buffs is somehow stackable according to Fextra.

I like Wikidot for DKS1 but since 2 their interface hasn't really been "neat" for me and I've been using Fextralife.

Also the game is still newish, the players are still testing different builds and how all the quests work. Give it a month and it will be fine.

You also have to remember that this game is still being patched and those upgrade paths will change for awhile.

They are testing it in a wrong way, they put information that they are not certain about. If you aren't 100% sure about something, don't post it on the wiki. Fextralife for DS2 was utter crap, it was even worse than this one. It even got people banned afaik.

This post is wrong in so many ways, I'm not even sure where to start. While I do think that wikidot is better in some aspects, it is still really slow on updates, lacks a lot of information Fextralife has (fextralife has much, much wider coverage), but in general is pretty good. I found it more useful for planning weapon upgrades in DS2 and for theorycrafting on builds (they had better pages for how scalings work and numbers).

Also fextralife is an open wiki, and it gets as good as ppl who edit it, and everyone can edit it. So instead of complaining you could go ahead and fix it.

Also I'd like to mention that Fextralife sometimes becomes a subject of malicious "raids" and vandalism, and same ppl who were vandalizing its pages later go and post on reddit/steam community how fextra is bad and how much lies it has, linking pages they edited themselves to be false, or simply giving no proof other than their words.

TL;DR: Fextralife is the best wiki right now. If wikidot starts updating faster and fixes it's lack of well edited pages on about everything - it will become viable option. Right now it's not.

The game is still new so the page has most likely not been updated. Not that this is okay but you have to give the website creators some time to enjoy the game themselves/stream/host events/update their site. Feel free to use whatever resource you feel is better though.

Can you please read my comments? I don't care if it has ALL the information in the world, if it's false, it's bad. Even if some of it is false. I much prefer a more conservative way of updates Wikidot has, because it only posts information that is 100% true. I haven't seen a single thing that is false on wikidot. I have seen tons of false information on Fextralife.

Wikidot has everything you need to know about items, quests or npc's. The difference is that the info on there is actually correct.

Don't tell somebody is wrong just because you have a different opinion. You simply sound rude.

I'm going to call ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on that. I played DS2 start to finish multiple times and Fextralife had every single piece of information I needed except one single thing: resistances of some foes.

As for the banning thing? Citation needed. Like, alot. Go, fetch a link that isn't publically editable and prove your statement.

Edit: Dangit steam stop messing my post up!

We all know Fextra is bad and Wikidot is good. Problem is, Wikidot had no information at all for the longest time. I haven't checked recently so that still might be true. I'll take hearsay over nothing.

That is the problem with Wikidot. It is barren, empty. Too slow on updates. Maybe months ahead it will approach in coverage to fextra. Sure, when it does get updated it will be very likely only confirmed info, but it does little in helping ppl RIGHT NOW. Right now it's better to use fextralife, and if something there proved to be wrong - quit ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on forums and go make it right. That's how it works.

Are you telling me these sets are upgradeable to +10? Go ahead try doing that. If you check out the Wikidot equivalents, they are both +5 on there, which is how it is in the game. Do I need to show any more proofs? There's tons. I don't care how many times you have finished the game. If you don't know it, you don't know it. Don't claim something you don't know. That's the sole reason Festralife is now useless.
granim May 6, 2016 @ 7:06pm
I wonder if their info is based off the Japanese version and it is outdated?
