Do dual-wield weapons count as being 2-handed?
In terms of gaining 50% bonus str? I want to make some changes to my build, so i thought if i go 27 str will my Gothard Swords have 40 str when dual-wielded?

Yes, they do count as being 2-handed.

You cannot 2H the dual weapons, so no bonus damage for then in that reguard.

I'm not sure what you mean. It doesn't increase your STR, but reduces the STR requirement for the weapon if you 2h it. I also don't think dual wield weapons like Gotthard get that effect.

It aint that hard to understand, yall. The button for dual wielding dual weapons is the same button you use to twohand every other weapon, so it'd be nice to know if this has the same effect on strength
By "50% Bonus STR" he refers to the 50% bonus you get for requirement when you wield a weapon a.k.a. if you 2 hand a weapon that requires 30 STR, you can wield it with 2 hands with at least 15 STR.
And yes, it does work.

2H does not give double str for weapon requirements.

isn't it like 30% of your str or something?

It's 50% iirc

Just for everyone's information, because it seems some people don't know how it works - 2-handing a weapon gives you effective 50% bonus to your strength stat - not only for requirements, but also for damage formula. This means that if you want to have a strength build and plan to use mostly a 2-handed moveset, you can go 27 str, because 27/2=13 (rounded down), and 27+13=40, with 40 being the end of "good" damage returns. This will let you save 13 points to put elsewhere and have a respectable amount of dmg.

Alternatively you can go ham and get 66 str for 99 2-handed str and max possible damage from strength in this game.

I get mixed replies but since you've repeated twice i take it you probably know it for sure ) If so, that's awesome, i'll go check how much dmg i lose if i lower my str to 27. :)

l1 to Silver Knights on ng+ 370>336, rolling l1 343>308.. I dont think that is worth saving 13 points :( Or is it?
