Mound Maker NPC guy

So I'm starting my 3rd character and just just the mound-maker covenant. I've never tried to kill this guy before..Has anyone done it? I'm talking about the guy who gives you the actual covenant emblem. I have no idea what his name is or anything. I'm trying to do a search on google but it's all coming up as how to join mound-makers or it's about the nana cage guy. Thanks in advance!

hordrick or something like that, and he is super hard to kill, and killing him before joining does nothing for you.

he does but its only worth killing him IF you go through sirris' quest line to kill him, that way he drops all his armor.

Thanks again! I dunno how I was suppose to figure that guy out without knowing his name lol was so tempted to just kill him right there.

Holy Knight Hodrick.

I've never tried killing him except as part of Sirris of the sunless realm's quest line, he had a lot of health. He's a pretty dangerous NPC if you're not prepared, he can hit VERY hard with his weapon art, he will parry you if you try to spam R1 on him and he will riposte you for tons of damage. I know that after you kill him as part of the quest you can get his armour, but I don't know if he drops it if you just try to kill him by yourself.

you know the cursed oak boss kills him by accident right? he drops a homeward bone

When you've killed him in Sirris' questline, return to the pit of hollows and beside the altar will be Hodricks corpse. On this corpse you can find his armor. His shield can be found after you defeated the fourth lord of cinder somewhere outside firelink shrine near the ludex gundyr bonfire. His shield only appears if you've completed Sirris' questline to the end.
