Siegward Questline ending???

So according to my friend, Siegward dies after the Yhorm boss fight. What he did was instead of lighting the bonfire and leaving, he walks up to the throne after siegward says he is going to take a nap. After that he collapses and dies, since my friend gets his souls. Does Siegward actually die?

in my experience he has never actually up and walked to the throne so idk why people are saying he does.
usually after the boss fight he sits down wherever he is when the boss died.

if you walk towards yhorms throne he will disapear leaving all of his stuff behind.

some people speculate he just left his armor for you and left.
and then yeah you do get souls and he dissapears so he could be dead too but it would be a really unexplained death. he just sits down and dies??????

If he collapses and you get his souls, then yes, he dies. If you don't go up to the throne (AKA you got teleported back to High Wall of Lothric) then it doesn't seem like he dies, he's just vanished by the time you come back.

He dies. Most NPCs in the game welcome death when they fulfil their agendas.

Damn, that sucks. At least he had a happy ending unlike Siegmeier, right?!?!?!

Pretty much everyone in the original Dark Souls either died or went Hollow and tried to kill you at some point.

Eh, Siegward's ending is KINDA happy. I mean, he fulfilled his duty and didn't end up hollowing, unlike Siegmeire :(

The same happened to mine. Yhorm cornered him right after entering the room. I ran straight to the throne to get the Stormruler and by the time I ran back Seigward was done.
