about dark sigil

ok if i use dark sigil the npc wont give me free levels anymore hes suppose to give 5 i alrdy got 1 from him but cant get anymore it says something about hollowing but i dont get it do i need to die a lot or i need to be in non ember form for the rest to work i dont get it

do the deaths count also before i got him or only after hes in firelink it starts to count?

Im pretty sure its after you take the first level is when it starts counting

You gain access to free levels as your hollowing count increases. (generally you have to die twice after getting a free level to be able to get another, up to a maximum of 5 free levels)

These are not free levels btw, if you hit max hollowing, you will never drop souls for reclaimation on death again(Until dark sign cleansed). In order to cleanse the hollowing you will need to farm up the equal amount to level up 5 times. Do not take the free levels unless you plan to do the hollow ending as in the long run it ends up costing you more.

dafuq are you high on? I max hollow 24/7 and I reclaim souls all the time.

Only downside to hollowing is if you'll look hideious and if you want to completely remove it youd have to pay-off the levels with the Firekeeper.

you need 15hollowing to get the remaining 4 levels, every 2 deaths you can draw the strength and if you do it you only need 2 for the next because the amount of hollowing you get per death is dictated by the amount of dark sigils you have

when i go in stats it says hollowing 35 lol but alrdy got the 5 levels and the merchant replaced him so anything else i should know?

you can only draw out your strength 5 times, the new merchant is part of the questline for one of the 4 endings

starting a ng cycle removes all your dark sigils, if you just use a curse stone it is like it never happened, so you don't need to pay souls to remove it.
