Morion blade opinion
I'm a really average Dark Souls player (can deal solo with pve and get my ♥♥♥ handed to me 80% of the time in pvp).

I've been overwhelmed by the variety and coolness of weapons in the game and for the longest time I couldn't figure out which weapon I would commit to and upgrade. I played a longtime switching from a weapon to an other not upgrading over +1 and wasting souls in STR and DEX to be able to use most of the weapons i'm finding.

Anyway, I finally picked (around SL 60) the Morion Blade and upgraded it to +4, I like the moveset the bleed effect the low health buff and the design (and the storyline). I'm now SL 80 and i'm doing fine with it but I was wondering if it was a good choice (powerwise) for pvp because i've never -ever met anyone with it in pvp (dark swords - longword - uchi everywhere).

Haven't used it, but isn't it basically a longsword with bleed? If so, well... if you want a longsword that does bleed then it's probably pretty good

It is. But it burn more stamina than a regular longsword and looks a little bit longer. It can't be infused or buffed. And well... I can't figure out if the trade off is good or not.

It's the same as the Morion Blade from demon's souls. Aka, when you're at low hp you get a red tearstone affect that boosts your AR.

And personally OP, I would only ever use the morion blade as a utility weapon. (Keep it on your offhand once you get low hp to get the red tearstone affect)

Danksword outclasses it in everyway. Frankly, I personally stay away from that entire weapon class because of the stigma of people mashing r1 like champions. (For the record I usually r1, r2, or r1, r1, kick with straight swords.)

Disappoints me because If not for that I could remake my quality build from dark souls 1 which was just full chainmail(lacking the helmet) heater shield, fire pine resin and a longsword. I'll still probably make that build at somepoint regardless.

You know what, let me stop rambling. :praisesun:

Interesting, never played demons. Would the effect stack with the ring?
Don't be afraid to upgrade any weapon to +9, since you can buy all Titanite types at infinite quantities. All except Slabs, which are limited to six per game.

Yes it does, actually. If you're good at last minute parries, don't even bother with hornet, they're already dead.

I don't have the red tearstone ring yet, I didn't knew it's was in the game (I play blind and I just arrived in Anor Londo) But I can imagine a blessed caestus in left hand, the Morion in right hand and the RTSR. Going in fight low life make a one shot !

While this may be a bit of a spoiler you can actually get the blade without killing Orbeck, and I don't mean with a glitch or something. Basically if you buy every spell from every scroll that you gave Orbeck as well as the ones he starts with he will leave the shrine and you can summon him to help you with the twin princes. Once you defeat the princes (not sure you are required to summon Orbeck or not) you can find Orbeck's corpse sitting in the Grand Archives at the table near all the shortcuts on the balcony and you can acquire his ashes there. Once you collect them you can then turn them in to Yuria to get the weapon without ever laying a finger on Orbeck while he was alive.

8 actually.

Weapon variety in ds3? What sick joke is that?

I should just take the lothric straight sword. Its fast, it got good damage as well as having a 10% crit multiplier for backstabs and parries.
