Ng+ soft caps?
Does starting a ng+ change the soft caps on stats?
I'm about level 35 on strength and dexterity... Worth investing more?

No, and 35 isn't the softcap, 40 is.

40 Might as well just be the cap, kinda wish it wasn't this way so you could make more extreme builds. I mean when you hit meta range for example who would ever take massive stats loss for say 20 lvls to gain what? 20 more dps? and drop 400 Health, worth.

That's so odd how they do that. I guess NG+ is more about balancing the characters out then? Perhaps I'll add some sorcery or something...
I'll probably just max out vitality and stamina though.

NG+ is about making the game harder. Why would you get stronger to compensate?

Because that's what happens in RPGs and the previous souls games.

Previous souls games never changed softcaps when you went into ng+. What are you talking about? And I have never heard of rpgs that change how stats work in NG+ instead of providing stronger enemies and possibly stronger gear.

40 is what I deem the meta softcap. If you are using weapons with high scaling, like Yhorms or Fume, then it becomes a bit higher. My Yhorms actually soft caps at 42 before the increase becomes negligible.

What am i talking about? Leveling up, obviously, aka getting stronger.

We're talking about soft caps. Chiming in with the fact that leveling up makes you stronger is completely pointless.

For me, it's about finding things I've missed. Not making it harder.
The enemies get harder so it only makes sense to level with them. It's how the game is designed.

You can do max NG+ at sl1, if you're good at the game. You can go to level 800 if you like, but don't expect diminishing returns to suddenly go away. Especially not when you consider the fact that you can still pvp and co op with people in NG.
