Probably Longsword.
Also nobody is being rude. Highest damage is probably something like point blank dragonslayer greataxe weapon art. High dps is probably one of the straight swords.
I was thinking of mentioning Dark Sword, but the higher stamina costs mean you'll attack less often, and thus lower DPS.
Longsword.
Hollow with high Luck and base stats to weild the weapon might be stronger.
Eventually Refined with high STR and DEX will be stronger.
Ultimately, you're already doing very high DPS.
Still Longsword beats Dark Sword for that.
If you want to start with something simple and fresh but decent and cool enough, pick Pyromancer. Go with this path :
Pick a Longsword, make it dark infused or ask someone to drop you a dark infused Longsword. Increase only :
vigor 25
endurance 23
intelligence 60
faith 60
vitality 20 - if you want to wear something extra
Equip in your right hand the dark infused Longsword and in your left hand the Pyromancy Flame, make them +10 as soon as you can but don't stress yourself over it, make your way to the Ancient Demon King and kill him to get Chaos Bed Vestiges for Pyromancy Flame. Reason why you need a Longsword with this Dark Pyro Knight build, is because, a dark infused Longsword gets an A scaling from Intelligence and Faith. That's quite a lot for a simple and starting weapon like that, it's also light, decently fast and really good and viable to use, even at the end game. That build, may have existed before, but I came on that idea on my own when I was searching around to find something that would let me enjoy playing as a caster, while also making me feeling familiar with a swordplay, and that build cannot go wrong in pve at least, maybe for some pvp, too.
I see some really good and solid answers from the previous users, up to you. Good luck!
He'll have the stats to wield both anyway
EDIT: oh this is 3 years old, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ necros.
