Or do what I did and just Death Run through the area to get what you need.
Problem with seeds is that you don't get a lot of them tho.
Black knight can be avoided if you simply want whats behind it. Tho if you really are out to kill it their are Cooldowns on invadings perhaps of you wait and deal with the invader first you can take down the knight in a more eased position.
Long answer: The swamp has it's own auto-summon covenant, the watchdogs. At the end of the Undead settlement is also usually where people get their infinite invasion item, and then there's the moundmakers, which you also join in the settlement. As such, you have 3 types of invaders with high activity in that area.
I do a lot of hosting there, and once you finger up you'll be chased by 3-5 phantoms in no time. Good fun.
So a lot of people who are just Completly Normal Players will finally be feeling confident, have some semblence of a build, and ready to dip their toes into invasions just for the hell of it. Instead of people deliberatly making "I want to invade as a black knight at SL 20 in the high wall" builds.
On top of that, Farron watchdogs are kinda stuck dealing with that area.
Also! You can take the side path to the right of the Black knight, to drop down behind him, and then get the treasure without fighting him.
Granted, your only way out then is to fight him, survive running past him, or homeward bone.
Excellent tip.
Thank you very much for the explanation, everyone.
Ah, and to whoever thinks I could try to defeat the invaders before going for the exploration: Don't overestimate me. xD Besides, invaders seem impossible to dodge, with their weapons' animations and hitboxes being completely out of sync. That's probably my problem though. Also GIANT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MURDEROUS CRABS (that invaders LOVE to lure my phantoms into, and they happily oblige)
If you get invaded, there is a tree at Firelink (near the bell tower that needs the key) that will have a single "Seed of the giants" waiting for you. A new one will spawn every time you get invaded, until you take it.
What it does, is turn the enemies hostile against invaders too. It's a popular trick to pop seed of the giants against invaders trying to camp out by the giant crabs.
Then you just hope it's not an invader who knows how to dodge roll properly and lead 5 crabs over to you.
There's a crab in the building. Be careful.
