i find them useful for shooting corpses hanging in trees that have items on them.
2. Avelyn (triple shot c-bow) reloads very rapidly (literally a wrist flick) and is great for pressuring your opponent and punishing chuggers.
3. Like every other ranged weapon they have various types of ammo you can use.
4. Don't even get me started on dual wielding avelyns, it's like a boss attack when they fire a volley of tiny projectiles at you.
5. I prefer the looks of DS2's Avelyn ...
I almost never used a crossbow in souls games, but they are perfectly fine, they aren't useless.
It's great for tripping up the opponent, or hitting a fleeing enemy.
Usually I mix it into a combo of light attacks.
Like a light, light, crossbow.
It's also useful for hitting an enemy that's just dodged a light attack.
