I reinstalled windows and my progress in DS3 is lost?

saves are on your harddrive. so no, unless you actually uploaded the save somewhere and forgot about it.

No i didn't , i played ds3 yesteday and what should i do to restore those files, just back-up or?

Well if you backed up your save folder which is located in C:\users\%username%\appdata\roaming\darksoulsIII then just put it back there.

If you didn't then you are screwed, it is 100% gone.

try reverting C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DARK SOULS III to a previous version.

The save isn't in there! It is in where I posted. Also he reinstalled windows, you cannot just 'revert'.

no way to restore when its gone. unless you still have a windows.old file left.

Well i didn't back-up, i thought DS3 has a cloud save, well RIP 120h and 2 chars.

Did you format your drive, or did you just install windows ontop of your previous? (creating a windows.old)

If you didn't format go to C:/windows.old/users/%username%/appdata/roaming/darksoulsIII (need to enable hidden folders)

1) Install all DLC you had [for some reason one was not installed]

2) Backup the folder:
C:\windows\users\%username%\appdata\roaming\darksoulsIII

3) Close Steam.

4) Delete the folder:
C:\windows\users\%username%\appdata\roaming\darksoulsIII

5) Then copy the files from:
C:/windows.old/users/%username%/appdata/roaming/darksoulsIII
Into:
C:\windows\users\%username%\appdata\roaming\darksoulsIII

6) Open Steam.
