Will using a trainer offline get me banned?
Like, something as simple as just adding souls and items? Not actually tweaking stats or anything?

I'd like to test what I can do with this game, but after i'm done i'd like to play normally online and not get banned for having a character with a couple extra souls than i actually earned.

Is there rules on this yet? Or is it like the old games where they just ban anyone they feel like while leaving rampant cheaters all over the servers?

If you've done something utterly ridiculous like giving yourself more souls than you should have, or more items etc, then you log on later and the server's like "As if that ♥♥♥♥'s legit" then yes you will get banned. I don't know if it'll still happen if you cheat offline and delete your character before you ever log back on.

If you play offline, i.e never connect to the server, no i don't think so. The game doesn't exactly check for anormalities on itself, it just sends what data you have to the server, after you are done cheating just delete the save file.

I support cheating offline when it doesn't affect anyone else.

you literally get a text after you connect to the server that "due to certain activities you have been x" softbanned, hardbanned etc.

If you are offline and stay offline, make backup saves for a offline playthough you can do whatever you want. but if you go online with said data the server will say its invalid.

There are no rules offline. only online the EULA will show up when signing into the servers.

While offline you can do anything you want. Just be sure to not leave anything strange after you get back online or you will get softbanned.
Awesome thanks guys...

So guys, if I use a trainer OFFLINE only to 1hit kill a boss and then I go with that char online, still I'll be softbanned?

no, just make sure you took off whatever cheat you had before going online. You can finish thegame at SL 1 with any weapon, the game won't bug you.

The save itself isn't corrupted, so as long as when you are online there isn't anything shady, you are ok.

But I suggest killing the bosses the hard way, the bosses are fairly easy this time around, but it's still rewarding to kill them normally. Why do you play if not to feel the achievement of overcome difficult ♥♥♥♥?

Also if you want to test stuff, you can back up your saves, do the stuff offline, and change back your saves when you are done.

There is no offline. The things you get "offline" can be later used online. Don't cheat. If you're bad at the game then summon someone. The only thing I'd understand is cheating yourself the covenant items, bloodgrass especially, as it's a pain to get.
