Equipment Degradation: Meaningless in DS3?
So I am getting pretty near the end of NG+ and I have never had to get equipment repaired by the blacksmith. The only time I have ever come close to "breaking" a weapon is when I help players on bosses over and over, and even then you're right next to a bonfire so you can restore durability instantly.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I sort of liked the "broken" durability issues in DS2 because it forced me to carry multiple weapons to switch back and forth to manage durability. When I played DS1 I focused on one weapon at a time and used it exculsively, but in DS2 I started equipping multiple weapons. This served to expand my moveset and improve my adaptability. Plus it added a little more tension to the game in having to worry about your weapon breaking in the middle of a tough fight (remember the Sinh boss battle?).

How often has everyone had to repair equipmen in DS3? Does anyone else think durability has changed for the worse in DS3? Should From have even included this game mechanic if it doesn't even really effect the player?

I never had anything break and I don't see any corrosion ♥♥♥♥.

They told us they wanted it to make like a compromise between Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 2... what they did was making the degradation like in Dark Souls 1 while refreshing it by simply resting at the bonfire, just like in Dark Souls 2.
So, yes, they made weapon durability basically meaningless.

Only time you see 'weapon at risk' is when you've been co-oping like 3-4 times through an entire zone re-placing your sign immediately without resting at a bonfire.

It will break, but it sure takes a while. Washing pole breaks fastest, so you can test with that. The red bar below your equipped weapon icon will retract when durability decreases.

Outside of heavy repeated sunbroing I have never even seen the 'weapon at risk' warning. I don't think it ever happened in my regular playthroughs up to completing NG++. So... it's a multiplayer mechanic :)

Washing pole is probably your best bet to break. Go give that an area clear and see if you can get the brokenness you crave.

Not even any Crystal Weapons to use either, I was really upset by this. Such wasted potential.

it would be way more immersive if you HAVE to go to andre to get your equipment repaired. but the way it is now, the degradation feature is just a victim of the mainstreaming obviously, the tried to stick to their roots but at the same time be newcomer friendly, it's sad but that's the way the gaming industry is going for the past years. it's still a great game but i just wished devs would have more balls to just push trough their thing :/

If they'd removed weapon's repairing at bonfire so you had to go an Andre, everything else the same, I'd be fine with it, but with the repair at bonfires, it may as well not be in the game at all.
