The Pike the perfect Sorcerer weapon

I love the pike as a sorcerer. Yes, it does require somewhat of a stat investment and it is a heavy weapon for a weak sorcerer but, the pay off is great. The biggest fear of a sorcerer is someone bum rushing them. After playing this way in DS(Moonlight Spear) DS2 and DS3(so far), it just solidified the pike as the perfect "Get Back" weapon for me. I have seen it first hand. Some sword guy rushes in on me. I poke him once and he's like "damn where did that come from?". Their approach completely changes, allowing you to fire off spells at right spots. Now hitting them with the spells is a different story.
