DARK SOULS™ III
Was Bloodborne PVP this good?
DS3 PVP is incredible. Tremendous fun. There are so many scenarios it's mind splitting and each endeavor is unique, often memorable. So...
Did the marraige of Bloodborne and DS work here? I find myself wanting to be invaded and much more because it is just so much damn fun.

Edit: I'm kind of terrible but I have my moments so it's not a I'm rocking the noobs thing. Dying in great fights doesn't detract from the fact that they are amazing. Truly amazing.

If you like Bloodborne pvp more than souls pvp, all the power to ya man. As far as parry spammers, my only issue with them in Bloodborne is that they have basically no risk. In dark souls, missing a parry means you take an axe to the face. In bloodborne, missing a parry means you now only have 19 more tries, even more depending on runes and how generously you apply bloodbullets
I have to disagree. Parrying in BB operates under the same circumstance as dark souls. Someone is trying to bury an axe in your face, and you parry the attack and land a crit. There is just as much risk for it in BB as there is in souls. If you miss the parry, you get an saw cleaver to the face. There wouldn't be any risk if someone was outside of swinging range spamming attacks, but that is never the case.

In BB duels, if you're up against an aggressive player, they are in your face the entire time, and if you miss a pistol parry, they will completely wreck you. Going for pistol parries is viable if you're playing against someone who is being predictable, but even still, BB is much faster paced than souls, and timing those shots just right isn't even worth trying in most cases.

That's my experience anyway. I'm mostly a 2h player, so I don't even mess with it. I've done a lot of pvp in BB, and I'm more careful around other 2h players than I am those with a gun in-hand. Anyway, that's my two cents. Your experience may be different, and I respect that.

Bloodborn pvp was just as bad.
Though despite BB pvp being my favorite, I still REALLY like DS3 pvp. The mad phantom mechanic is glorious and I love the lack of casters. The weapon arts was a nice touch to the system as well.

Fair enough
what made bloodborne pvp trash is the bell system, you had a limited supply and i forget how exactly be it was very hard to replace your bells or something like that, you could be the rules were stupidly difficult to allow for co-op gameplay or pvp or even invade.

here in dark souls 3, getting multiplayer on in all ways possible is easy modo compared to the nightmare conditions that is bloodborne, screw that game's ability to even get ♥♥♥♥ started.

You clearly never played bloodborne. Bells were infinite use, don't know what you're talking about when you say "you had a limited supply"

Mixing up BB's bells with dks2's cracked red eyes maybe?

Possibly. Or maybe he was referring to Insight, and how you could only summon people if you had insight to ring the Beckoning bell. That still has nothing to do with pvp though

around the time release, i believe the sinister resonant bell required 1 insight to invade. that was patched out rather quickly though.
I'm just having a gas PvPing to my heart's content and then going back to the story. The way it breaks up the game is not intrusive but it has its own elements of fear and loathing terror. Embers are thankfully plentiful and boss embers are easy to miss and fun to discover the bastard invader. It's just so much fun to switch between PvE and PvP so easily. It's even more fun that you can have up to what I've seen 6 people battling and it can work on the fly -- people joining and dying changing up things even more.
Yes, in that they're both utter trash.
BB was a pathetic R1/quickstep R1 or L2 spam and parry spam cheesefest, so they are indeed very similar, except DkS3 has LESS variety at this point, as you are way less mobile and you only fight against basically three weapons. At least BB had people using several different weapons to mash the same key.

Well at least in Bloodborne you dont have to bait someone out of their stronghold and run after them while they retreat back after first slash only to chug 5x potion. At this point anything is better than DS3 PvP-Wise.

Besides, you cant take actual information over Bloodborne in Steam forums. The place is infested with those still-butthurt pc-master-race nazis telling the game was bad just because its exclusive and their parents didnt allow them to puırchase a PS4. Bloodborne was way much better than this crap called DS3 by all means, as it stands in its throne as the highest selling and ranked Soulsborne game ever officially.

I disagree. The weapon arts and R2 are not to be ignored in 2H. Hell even charging attacks are fun to catch a player when they're confident. Playing coy is actually a fun tactic.

Don't bother. He doesn't know how to beat the R1 spamming newbies so he came crying to the forums about it

Don't get me wrong. I will not doubt the power of a good R1 spam. It has murdered me many a time now. That doesn't make it good. It's like a nice boss fight except they can dodge until their stamina runs out and then... ahem.. yeah.. that thing with the rear hole. So divine.
