I just literally hate the tar blobs in cathedral.
I went through the hallway, looked at every possible ceiling, I was SURE there was no piece of ♥♥♥♥ on the ceiling. And then, when I was comming back through the literal same hallway, it dropped out of nowhere and jumpscared me.

They really hate fire. Not torch fire though, weapon fire/pryomancies though? Rips em apart.

Yeah, I learned that in catacombs where I used it in the room full of them. The problem is, they drop from where I have already checked that there are none.

The problem is, I already checked that ceiling. It wasn't legitemately a jumpscare, but it was startling for sure.

The pants-changing mechanic is real. xD

If you run through the corridor, they'll drop down behind you. You can basically ignore them with this strategy, but only once you've been through the area before and know where the other enemies are.

Sprinting through unknown territory in Dark Souls is like taking a shortcut to the grave.

I've noticed in Smouldering Lake the fire ones tend to be embedded in the roof at awkward angles and partially embedded in the ceilings, making a lot of them difficult to lock on to from any kind of distance. I would not be surprised if some are fully submerged in the textures in some areas of the game.

Wait a minute, do they climb on the walls and slide across? That's the only explanation, as there is only one blob in that corridor area.

Yeah, the ceiling textures are kinda glitched.

I played it at like 3am last night, ffs the amount of times it jumped scared me and made me smash my knee in the bottom of my desk.
