Seriously though, I was able to beat him as Deprived the same way I beat him as Herald and Knight: Stay close to him, keep your shield up, roll to dodge anything you can see coming, and hit him during his recovery frames. Sure, it's probably the most generic strategy in the game, but if it works, it works!
Two-hand the club, use the Battle Art to do more damage, and just destroy him.
The end
Get the firebombs before the boss area (there is a cliff passage to the right, where two enemies are guarding them)
Get your weapon two handed.
Lock on him.
Stay always to his left, your right, and when he does a swing, locked on, roll so you always stay at his left side (this is his weak spot, because he doesnt have a shield and his weapon is on the other hand)
When he changes his phase to a black monster, you can keep the same position to hit him, but I recommend the bombs, because that guy is weak vs. fire.
