You can't infuse Chaos Blade. That said, I've using it since I got it, it's my favourite weapon by far.

But the washing pole is probably the "best" weapon in terms of damage output + has a bigger range. I would not infuse it with elemental damage. If you have a dex build a sharp infusion would probably be the best for it

There is no reason to hate the CB on ds3. People that hate it do so because in ds2 a dark weapon CB was awesome. But in DS3 i'm quite sure everyone hates the dark sword and the estoc a lot more than they hate the CB.

Onikiri and Ubadachi is the most stylish version imo. It's a beast in doing pseudo-combos (like L1-L1-[you canroll out here, but if you roll back you're caught]-L2-L1) and deals some serious damage. As always, dual weapons tend to be a magnet for parry-spam.

Yea I really love that weapon too! The only reason I'm not using it yet is because I only got it at +9 so far and it's quite heavy for my current setup (I'm at exactly 69.9% weight with the CB)

I don't specifically have to do DEX. I can respec my entire character in the bedcamber so i'm totally flexable!

Still, I would not elemental infuse it! I would go for a non elemntal infusion, this way you can buff it with lightning weapon, fire weapon or something (you can't buff weapons with elemental infusions in ds3)

O+U has awesome scaling when infused with an element!
S or double A, iirc, depending on the infusion.

Just sayin'.

If you are looking for PvP the washing pole beats every other katana. I wouldn't reccommend the CB for PvE since it deals quite a bit of damage to you with every hit. It isn't a problem in PvP but in PvE the numbers can really add up. I'm loving the WP and i'm sure you would too.

I tested this with another weapon, the lothric knight sword. With a refined inusion it gets a B+B str and dex scaling. With a lightning infusion it get's D+D str and dex scaling and S scaling in faith.

Still, at least for my build (40/40 with 30 faith) I still do more damage with it refined, because I can cast lightning weapon on top of the better str and dex scaling.

Maybe if you have really high faith and int an elemental infusion might be worth it, but at least for my build the non elemental infusions are the way to go!

Also, the O+U unlike most katanas seems like it is a quality build weapon

O+U and Black Blade are the quality katanas. The rest Dex. I've no idea about the (uninfused) Washing Pole scaling, I actually never upgraded it. But the different upgrade-paths convert them into the perfect weapon anyways.

Normal/Raw + buff is better for the duration of the buff, but after that an elemental weapon will usually be a better choice (at high Int and/or Fth and low Str and Dex, ofc).

The washing pole also had the extra effect of making the wielder look like a complete tool that nobody wants to fight when he shows up.

On a serious note, you should have "Repair" or a little stack of Repair Powders in your belt if you decide to use the Washing Pole.
Its durability is actually an issue from what I've seen. In PvE, in particular. But in PvP it might become a little problem in a fight club after a few wins, too...

Chaos blade; the only manly enough katana.

So is the Washing pole more versatile in both PVP and PVE? What about buffing it? What should I have in reserve? Should I be working on upgrading it using raw after +10?

I would say the Chaos Blade, it's outputting insane damage for me, with an S scaling

Here's a Chaos Blade Video. How the heck does it do that damage?
