He does tones of damage
But he takes fire damage like a ♥♥♥♥♥, all attacks are wide sweeps with clear wind ups and his AOEs seem to have lots of warning.
He isnt super easy. But I dont feel like he pulls any real cheap moves.
Bit its possible he can do something I have not seen yet.
Worst boss title rightfully goes to Yhorm the Giant.
I remember this guy, anything he can't just heavy armor + shield through is 'bad design'.
i really don't see why so many have issues with this fight. he's tough but at least he makes sense.
Champion Gundyr on the other hand....that second phase is just a never ending stream of bs. unavoidable sweet chin music from halfway across the arena.
Once he gets off his bird, he turns into an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, nearly every one of his moves and combos can instantly turn around. He'll finish a swing and just bring his spear over his head and hit behind him fairly frequently, but not always, so rolling around his attacks isn't wholly safe ever.
I dunno if he's the worst, but the fact he pretty much could always 2-hit you was obnoxious as hell.
I get the game is supposed to be punishing, but ♥♥♥♥ me, not a SINGLE boss in DS1 had a 2-hit margin of error.
EDIT: Except for the bosses with special, extra telegraphed 1-hit moves with fancy animation like the Gaping Dragon, or enemies like mimics but I would think that's a given.
TL;DR
Stop whining that a boss can kill you when you ♥♥♥♥ up.
2nd phase is easier in my opinion, all the bosses moves can be predicted and punished with trial and error. Only part that seems cheap to me is when he hits me with a lightning bolt that seems almost undodgable.
NK was mostly annoying in phase 1 due to the dragon for me. I can't remember if I killed him at the second or third try but I found the 1v1 part quite easy by simply rolling around.
Use the Dragonslayer shield.
