TEXTURE MODS are they safe?

Will we get banned if we use texutre mods to alter the apperance of certain things, for example: the game UI buttons... would be nice to have a proper UI for mouse and keyboard as well as Playstaion UI among other things.

I want to know if its safe to use these mods without getting banned. These texture mods do not and cannot effect online play, so i see no issue, but im sure namco might think differently.

Some people have reported being banned for using visual mods.

Don't try it man, people are getting banned for almost all programs that interact with the files, even controller managment programs.

I unlocked the camera to take some screenshoots and got a warning saying that if I don't remove any invalid data i will get banned, so just don't risk it.

the only visual mods that im aware of that are out for dark souls 3 are just those sweetFX presetd and Reshade mods. as far as i know, thats a bit different than the texture mods they used for dark souls and dark souls 2, where you would have a folder of all your texture files and the would be named the same as the games original texture files and it would override the originals with the ones in the directory you put them in.
but again, what do i know? this could all look the same to namco when it comes to 'altering' the game

It is done by scanning the files at the main menu. So any alterations made before game launch (changing textures etc) will show up on the anti-cheat, then it's Russian roulette whether you get banned.

Funnily enough, most things injected after the main menu do get even noticed by the game.

Anything that messes with the game-files will probably get you banned.

I remember I had 'CASUL' come up when I died in the previous souls. Good times.

I use a PS3 controller using motioninjoy and it works perfectly fine, the UI doesn't need to change since I already know what buttons to use.

We'll see when From further develops the anti-cheat to not be so trigger happy.

At least you can try using throw away characters for a few days to see if they get soft-banned. If they don't, congratulations, it might be undetected.

Just don't. If you have to ask 'is it safe to modify?' just don't do it. Not worth the risk imo.

yep seems that way, i was thinking, maybe since the mod texture files and the originals have the same file name that maybe that'd go by unnoticed, but then my roommate here says each file may have a checksum fingerprint and such..

look up SCP toolkit way better then motioninjoy controller is ready to go as soon as the computer starts up and it lets you do bluetooth, so much more simple and dont have to activate it every time i want to use my dualshock 3

My IRL friend did a cheese character and got softbanned, made a new one and was good to go.
