Yeah. I'm not sure how useful it will be against a great shield. It will depend on your weapon and stamina vs his stamina and stability.

I'm not sure, but two handing your weapon will probably help as well.

knightslayer ring gives a piddly 10% increase to stamina damage, so it's next to useless against a greatshield unfortunately

People don't seem to realise just how stable a greatshield is when people have specced specifically into a high stamina build.

Kicking absolutely does not work against a greatshield user who isn't totally braindead. Firstly it will take several kicks to stagger a dedicated greatshield build, secondly your kick can be punished with a shield-bash. Same with guard breaks and piercing attacks, the greatshield user will punish you with a bash and they will win the trade.

This kind of thing is especially bad with low level twinking. I was invading in crucifixion woods and I came across multiple people using the havels greatshield and there is literally NOTHING you can do as a non-twink vs this kind of thing. I got the host up against the wall and started spamming kick... I ran out of stamina before he was staggered.

So im exploiting this with a friend.
Irithyll Rapier +5 with Knight Slayer's Ring kinda work but sometimes the rapier bounce off and that gives them small amount of time to recover their stamina
