how to get chameleon

there is no assassin disguised as a statue and there is no chameleon by the darkmoon covenant. am i just boned and have to go to ng++?

Have you killed the Abyss Walkers? If not get the Dark Sigil to level 5 and do note if you want to heal all of it it'll cost a ton of souls. Basically you need to draw out the strength and then die 2 times. Repeat this 5 times in a row.

Kill Abyss Walker after you've done that. After that you'll find a new NPC near that npc that is now dead. She won't give you the spell but you can buy all of her stuff and even kill her. I did it.

Then work yourself to the church and if you haven't told Anri the whereabouts of his friend he'll be there. Now the statue will be to the left of you the moment you enter the church. That enemy drops it.

It's like no one is paying attention he has clearly reached Anor Londo if he says there is no pilgrim in the darkmoon temple behind that illusory wall.

have you talked to anri at the catacombs and NOT killed horace or told anri of horace's location?

You have to keep the Anri questline going until they get to Irithyll. If you didn't meet them at the bonfire there then you wont be getting the spell this playthrough. There 2 chances to get it:

-kill the assassin pilgrim disguised as a statue in the church of yorshka bonfire before they murder Anri
-or go through with the "wedding" and the pilgrim will be dead outside the doorway

you know the bridge you run across with the hoard of skeletons? just before the bridge, go right up to the top of the cliff, he/she's up there

Anri questline is fairly complicated and has a lot of ways to fail it. Would recommened a wiki if you do another playthrough.

ooor if you're an idiot like me and killed Aldrich before finishing the quest, go back to the catacombs (if you havent talked to anri there yet) go through the 2 locations in which he spawns, and without hitting a bonfire(dont know if this affects it or not) go kill horace or locate him, which should force anri to move to the yorshka church bonfire in iryllith, talk to anri there and hit the bonfire, move to the anor londo bonfire and head down to the darkmoon tomb and the pilgrim should be there outside the entrance

I didn't know if the quest was even completable if Anri is still in the Catacombs even after killing Pontiff but if it worked for you that's good.
